Apply on Partner SiteA fantastic position for a Principal/Associate has come available in Manchester to take the promotion to Associate Director in a well established Transport Planning team with 8 staff. As Associate Director you would be the missing link between the Director and the rest of the team, providing leadership, development and furthering growth of the team.
In this Transport Planning Team as Associate Director you are expected to be able to develop your own business and client portfolio whilst also taking on work from clients that this large multi disciplinary already works with across the UK, including the Ministry of Defence, Homes England, numerous residential house builders and many more in Manchester, the North West and beyond.
This role will allow you to have real flexibility, working once a week from their brand new Manchester City Centre office, choosing what work you want to go after, public or private sector and have a real say in the direction of the team. There is also fantastic career opportunities for you, this role could very quickly take you beyond Associate Director within an organisation of over 20,000 professional staff.
Associate Director requirements
Proven project management and business development capabilities (including proposal writing)
Knowledge of the UK transport planning industry and the UK planning system
Extensive experience in preparing transport assessments, travel plans, transport chapters for environmental statements, etc
Self-motivation and capability to undertake specific tasks with minimum supervision
Ability to manage own time to meet project deadlines
Excellent presentation skills
Excellent spreadsheet skills
Experience of delivering technically challenging projects
Experience of liaising / negotiating with public and private sector clients
Understanding of current design guides such as Manual for Streets and DMRB.
Knowledge of the application of junction modelling software
Public inquiry and examination in public experience would beneficial
Degree or Masters in a relevant subject (e.g. transport planning, civil engineering, geography).
