Fabricator

Role Purpose:

Full fabrication of bespoke high integrity Ductwork components manufactured from Stainless and Mild Steel sheet metal thickness 2 to 3mm thick.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Manual skills and precision marking out of pre-cut (Guillotine/laser) sections of ductwork including Straight’s radius bends, square to rounds, tapers etc.
Knowledge of sheet metal assembly techniques for example folding rolling of Ductwork components using Press brake /Power rollers .
Use of various hand powered tools, nibblers/drills/ etc
Working to detailed Engineering drawings.
Inspecting and testing components produced to make sure they meet quality requirements
Understands material wastage allowances and able to suggest improvements to save materials.
Understands and implements the requirements of Inspection and Test Plans
Understanding of manufacturing tolerances
Awareness of Specifications and other Contract documents
Where possible, adopts an innovative approach to enhancing safe systems of work
Understands the basic Company Protocols with regard to accidents and Incidents investigations
Must be a good team player, with strong communication and interpersonal skills
Able to work on own initiative and seek out opportunities in line with level of responsibility
Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes
Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately
The following qualities/experience are desirable:

Experience of Fabrication and welding to Nuclear specifications and a variety of high-end stainless steel and mild steel products.
Good working knowledge of current H & S legislation
Level 3 NVQ fabrication /welding
£16.42 per hour PAYE
