Job Title: Financial Controller

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 (depending on experience)

Location: Stockport

Type: Permanent, Full Time, Office Based

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Financial Controller to work for a leading courier company, specialising in delivering an outstanding services to the clients. You will be highly motivated and skilled individual who is also people person and can work as part of the team. 

You will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing all of the financial operations. You will be responsible for maintaining and ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic insights to support the business growth. The successful candidate will possess previous finance experience, hold an AAT Level 4 qualification, and be proficient in using Sage50 as you will be using it for majority of your work.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee all financial activities of the company, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting

Prepare and present financial statements, reports, and analysis to senior management

Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to company policies

Ensure compliance with tax regulations, manage tax reporting, and work closely with external auditors and tax advisors

Monitor and manage cash flow to optimise working capital and support the company's financial stability

Conduct in-depth financial analysis, provide insights on cost control, revenue growth, and other key financial metrics

Oversee internal and external audits, ensuring full compliance with financial regulations and standards

Utilise Sage50 software for financial data management, reporting, and analysis

Lead and mentor the finance team, providing guidance and support to ensure the department's success

Requirements:

Previous finance experience, ideally within the courier or logistics industry

AAT Level 4 qualification or equivalent

Proficiency in using Sage50 for financial management

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy

Strong organisational and multitasking skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Knowledge of financial regulations and accounting principles
