Our client, an established engineering firm based on the outskirts of Dorking, is looking for an experienced office-based Graduate Design Engineer to join their international design team. Reporting to the Head of Technical and Managing Director the main purpose of this role is to produce designs, produce drawings in AutoCAD and Revit and carry out calculations in MS Excel.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the design, drawing production and calculations for a project, from conception through to construction.
Working on multiple jobs of differing sizes and complexity at any one time.
Pro-active and integral management of interfaces with Sales and Project Managers.
Support and assist all other areas of the business with technical and design knowledge.
Ensure optimum design for individual projects ensuring scope is met but not exceeded.
Full commercial awareness of each project and full understanding of what is required.
Full understanding of time-scales required for each project.
Management of drawing feedback from clients / architects /stakeholders and 3rd parties and ensuring changes / updates are clearly communicated to Project Managers / Sales.
Production of sales design proposals and contract working drawings including Revit models for concepts and contracts.
Producing drawings and documents that are accurate and to current company standards.
Use of computer applications for optimum production of client proposals, working drawings and internal systems.
Liaison with customers and internal staff for sales and contract work.
Site visits for sales concept development and design support to ongoing contracts.
Production of technical presentations for sales and contracts.
Any other tasks that may reasonably be required to be undertaken.
Provide support to other areas of the business as required.
Upload and download drawings and technical data to client portals.

Experience and Skills Requirements:

In-depth experience in AutoCAD, Revit, Excel and Word
IT skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Attention to detail
Good organisational skills
Good time management - ability to prioritise work load and multitask
Self-motivated with the ability to work as part of a team or individually
Technical understanding
Decision making
Construction understanding and experience would be preferable but not essential
M&E background would be advantageous
