We are recruiting a Night Transport Supervisor for our internationally renowned metal distributor based in Wednesbury, West Midlands.  This is a PERMANENT POSITION beginning immediately for the suitable candidate.  You will be responsible for supervising a fleet of LGV vehicles and drivers.
 
Salary:                             £33,000-£36,000 (depending on experience) + additional benefits
 
Hours of work:                  19:30 – 06:30 (1 hour lunch)
 
Day of work:                     Sunday to Thursday (Bank Holiday Mondays included but added to annual holiday entitlement)
 
The Role:

Day-to-day driver and vehicle management, including reactive problem-solving
Pre-brief/debrief and issuing of duties and paperwork
Directing on-site shunter
Dealing with vehicle incidents and breakdowns (liaising with recovery services)
Vehicle defect reporting and arranging scheduled servicing and MOTs
Escalation of issues to Transport Manager
Tachograph download and infringement management including driver counselling
Producing management reports and updating internal computer systems 
Required:

Transport industry experience (preferred) along with supervisory (or similar)
Computer literate (Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook or similar)
Ensuring adherence to all statutory and legal requirements, adhering to all health & safety / safe systems of work.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Stable work history
A willingness to work night shift (including Bank Holiday Mondays)
