We are a private real estate investment company founded in 1985. Our wide-ranging portfolio includes affordable housing, student accommodation, PRS, hotels, youth hostels, offices, and warehousing across the UK, Netherlands and Belgium. We're now looking to recruit a Chef to lead our kitchen function at the Hendon site.

The role

As the Chef you will lead the kitchen function to achieve the highest standards of food production. Responsible for the creation and maintenance of a strong and customer-focused, performance driven quality culture with focus upon culinary excellence and cleanliness in the workplace.

Main responsibilities will cover:

Ensure food is prepared to a high standard for the c.150 individuals each day
Experience in middle eastern and Indian cuisine preferred
Produce a high quality menu that offers seasonal changes
Ensure a professional, friendly and helpful service is delivered to all service users
Assist with the purchasing of food in line with agreed budgets
Lead the team to ensure best practice and safety standards are met across hygiene systems and protocols, stock rotation, dating, storage, temperature control of refrigerators, pest control, reporting of faulty equipment, reporting of notifiable diseases
Ensure that all Food Safety Act 1990, Allergen, HACCP & H.A.S.A.W. Act 1974 and Health and Safety policy affecting the department and all fire regulation and procedures are in place and all kitchen staff have received the correct training

Person specification

You have a passion for cooking and love to own your kitchen and menu. You demonstrate strong leadership and run a tight ship, setting high quality standards consistently. You have extensive knowledge of a variety of foods and ingredients and demonstrate creativity in your dishes. You welcome all types of feedback, work well under pressure, and meet time constraints.

You have worked in a similar role previously as a Restaurant Manager or Kitchen Manager. You are confident to cook and prepare the food at our building efficiently and safely.
