Role Overview: As a Learning Support Assistant in a secondary school setting, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and social development of students with special educational needs. Working closely with teachers and other professionals, you will provide targeted assistance to students, ensuring that they have equal access to education.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one or small group support to secondary school students with special educational needs (SEN)
Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs)
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment within the secondary school setting
Collaborate with teachers to adapt lesson plans to meet the individual needs of secondary school students
Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teaching staff
Support secondary school students during classroom activities and outings
Contribute to the creation of a safe and supportive learning atmosphereRequirements:

Relevant experience working with secondary school students in an educational setting
Special education (SEN) experience is essential
Understanding of different learning needs and strategies to support them
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting secondary school students with diverse needs
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently
A commitment to promoting inclusive educationQualifications: A minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics is required. Additional qualifications related to special educational needs are desirable
