Adecco are recruiting to work on site with our client Collins based in Shirley as a Supply Chain Specialist. This is initially for 6 months with the possibility of extension. You will work Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week. Our client is offering a Hybrid working pattern where you will be on site 3 days per week when training, then move down to 2 days on site once fully trained.
Pay: £25.99 per hour UMBRELLA
This position is at the Electronic Controls and Motor Systems. ECMS is focus on R&D for electric motors and motor controllers. The role holder will work between the Engineering department and Supply Chain Buyers to ensure an efficient supply chain able to meet our clients customer expectations.
Responsibilities:
Develop initial project cost targets at project initiation and track performance against this target.
Investigate low-cost solutions and make proposals to the Engineering team at the early design stage.
Complete due diligence checks and monitor new suppliers via watch lists to ensure suppliers maintain healthy financial performance.
Manage the ITC compliance pre-work necessary for engagement with suppliers.
Translate project needs into a robust supplier selection process.
Coordinate and manage procurement requirements throughout the development of project.
Represent Supply Chain at regular project reviews and other appropriate meetings involving supply and demand.
Own and manage Supply issues providing clear, accurate and timely communication to all stakeholders.
Use systems (SAP) to extract data and to report metrics as defined by the Supply Chain Manager.
Initiate and agree robust, workable contracts and pricing agreements via negotiations.Skills & Experience:
Technical background in electrical or mechanical engineering, preferably gained in an aerospace or high precision environment.
Demonstrates professional and credible communication.
Strong negotiation skills and demonstrable experience of managing and developing supplier relationships.
Proficient in the use of IT and able to leverage systems to provide data and reports for the benefit of the business. Proven experience with ERP systems.
Proactive with strong planning and organisational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Flexible and able to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplined team to tight deadlines.
SAP experience (ERP experience as a minimum)
