You'll most often be the first voice the customers will hear. Polite and professional yet endearing and welcoming. You'll be familiar yet not overly familiar. Always intuitively looking for the opportunity to sell. The balance has to be right. Your main purpose of the role? Increase sales through relationship building and new product introduction.
You'll be both following up on inbound inquiries and converting those into sales and sometimes bigger opportunities. Also, you'll be researching the customers and the database with proactive calls to identify how your products and solutions can add value to their business.
Some of this will be cold calling but you'll have the name of the business behind you which counts for a lot and people will know who they are, even if it's the first time they've spoken with you. It's relentless dialler system-type cold calling. It's researched, targeted, and methodical cold calling that adds value. That said, both types do require a certain type of person to pick up the phone and be resilient to find a "YES" within all the "No thank yous" you will get.
This business is a family-run business. Operating for over 30 years. With values, ethical processes and just an aire of quality about them. They are highly regarded within their industry (Print & Signage) as a quality supplier to the industry. The business sells capital equipment, consumables and substrates in the print and signage sectors. They have done for years.
For you, as an Internal salesperson, If you can see a customer or prospect has purchased one thing from you but not the other, there's a sales opportunity straight away! You'll have to have your finger on the pulse and have the drive to be proactive as this is the manufacturing, fast-paced and quick turnaround type industry.
You'll be rewarded with progression opportunities in the business, obviously a solid base salary and also a commission that is easy to follow, fair and doesn't move. How much you earn is just down to how hard you're willing to work.
If you're looking for an opportunity and have had some sales experience previously then this is one that you should be looking at. Yes, experience is important but the biggest thing this company hires on is attitude and behaviours. It would be amazing if you know a thing or two about Print & Signage but if not, it won't take long to teach you the ropes. Again, you've got to want to learn.
