Commercial Claims Handler

Overview

As a Claims Handler at our clients Insurance Brokerage, you will play a crucial role in managing
and facilitating the claims process for their clients. This position requires a dedicated and
empathetic professional with strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the
ability to provide compassionate support to clients during their times of need. You will work
closely with clients, insurance carriers, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient claims
 resolution.

Responsibilities

· Receive and document client claims, ensuring all necessary information and
documentation are complete and accurate.
 · Register claims with insurance carriers and initiate the claims process.
 · Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the claims
process, providing timely updates and addressing inquiries and concerns.
 · Offer empathetic and supportive guidance to clients during difficult times.
 · Investigate the validity of claims by gathering evidence, interviewing involved
parties, and evaluating policy coverage.
 · Collaborate with loss adjusters and specialists when necessary to assess the
extent of damages or losses.
 · Maintain organized and detailed electronic claims records, including all
correspondence and documentation.
 · Prepare and submit comprehensive claims reports to insurance carriers,
clients, and management.
 · Negotiate with insurance carriers to secure the best possible settlements for
clients.
 · Ensure that settlements are in compliance with policy terms and regulations.
 · Collaborate with external partners, such as adjusters, claims companies and
repair contractors, to facilitate claim assessments and repairs.
 · Monitor partners performance and adherence to service level agreements.
 · Ensure that claims handling practices adhere to industry regulations, ethical
standards, and company policies.
 · Stay updated on changes in insurance regulations that may impact claims
handling.
 · Conduct quality checks on claims documentation and processes to minimize
 errors and ensure accuracy.

Qualifications

· Strong knowledge of insurance policies, coverage options, and claims procedures.
 · Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide
empathetic support to clients.
 · Strong problem-solving and negotiation abilities.
 · Attention to detail and accuracy in claims documentation.
 · Proficiency in using Acturis software and Microsoft Office Suite.
 · A commitment to ethical business practices and compliance with industry standards.

Must Haves

Commute must be no longer than 45 minutes radius
At least 2 - 5 years experience in similar role
Strong knowledge of insurance policies coverage options and claims procedures
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide empathetic support to clients
Strong problem-solving and negotiation abilities
Attention to detail and accuracy in claims documentation
Proficiency in using Acturis software and Microsoft Office Suite
A commitment to ethical business practices and compliance with industry standardsBenefits

 20 days holiday plus bank holidays Pension Performance related bonus - if the business grows by 10% annually then a 7% bonus (7% of employees salary) is triggered. For every percentage of growth, an extra 0.7% is added to the bonus, for example, 11% = 7.7%, 12% = 8.4%. This is uncapped and is paid annually in March
