About this Role:

An opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Area Operations Manager to work with the Oxfordshire based regional office of this Tier 2 main contractor, with a clear brief to focus on growing the region through developing client relationships, work winning, safe and successful delivery of projects in the region and leading the regional team.

You will be responsible for overseeing the regional office including business development, identifying and targeting key clients, projects and frameworks, work winning and preconstruction, operational delivery of multiple projects from pre-contract stages, and construction phase through to handovers through your delivery teams.

This role reports into a remote Director for a wider region, so the successful candidate will be autonomous holding full responsibility for this regional office and workload.

This role would suit an experienced Senior Contracts Manager looking to progress or an Operations or even Commercial Manager looking for a the opportunity to run a regional business unit.

About the Company/Client/Project:

This opportunity is to work with a well-established Tier 2 main contractor with several regional offices.

Scope of work will typically include schools, colleges, retirement living, healthcare, residential with some commercial and industrial buildings also - new build and refurbishment projects ranging £5m to £15m, typically in the Oxfordshire, Bucks, W Herts areas.

Requirements including certificates and qualifications:

You will be an experienced Senior Contracts Manager, Operations (or potentially Commercial Manager) with a proven track record of service and progression within a recognised main contracting organisation.

You will be effective in work winning, the conversion and delivery of multiple projects.

You will be able to demonstrate clear leadership ability, and the effective management of staff.

Key attributes will include excellent client facing skills, client and team management, technical, contractual and commercial knowledge, plus vision, focus and drive.

Experience of first and second stage input and delivery of schemes on different regional frameworks would be highly advantageous.

Overall business management would include: Management and development of your delivery teams through training, development, recruitment; business development, tendering and work winning; input to setting mid and long term business strategy and targets in terms of market and turnover; Reporting to an visiting / remote Regional Director.
