As a Supply SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll support children in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 with a range of special educational needs (SEN), from Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to various learning and developmental challenges. You’ll step into different classrooms across Havering and nearby areas, adapting to diverse environments and collaborating with exceptional teams who are all dedicated to inclusivity and nurturing every child’s potential. Application Requirements:
• Experience in SEN settings or working with children is beneficial but not essential.
• Ability to adapt quickly and communicate effectively with students and staff.
• A positive attitude, patience, and a genuine interest in working with children.
• Flexible schedule and willingness to work across multiple schools in the Havering area.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide individualised and small-group support to SEN pupils, adapting activities to meet diverse needs.
• Work closely with classroom teachers and SENCOs to create a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
• Use behavior management techniques to support students with emotional and social needs.
• Track student progress and collaborate with teachers to adjust learning plans as needed.
• Assist with personal care as needed, maintaining the dignity and comfort of each child.
