Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager to join our client’s UK team, focusing on growing their Schlegel Seals product line. The Area Sales Manager will play a pivotal role in expanding market share, securing new business opportunities, and building long-lasting relationships with customers. You will be responsible for executing sales strategies, meeting revenue targets, and serving as the face of this respected brand to UK clients.
Responsibilities of the Area Sales Manager:
* Develop and implement strategic sales plans to meet or exceed revenue and growth objectives for Schlegel Seals in the UK.
* Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities, nurturing relationships with potential clients.
* Strengthen relationships with existing customers to ensure retention, repeat business, and increased revenue potential.
* Partner with engineering, operations, and customer service teams for smooth product delivery and exceptional service.
* Regularly track, analyse, and optimise sales metrics to address growth opportunities and boost performance.
* Manage the sales pipeline and provide accurate revenue forecasting.
* Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to guide sales strategies.
* Represent the company at industry trade shows, conferences, and events to generate leads.
* Work closely with Technical and Customer Service teams based at UK manufacturing sites in Newton Aycliffe (Durham) and Henlow (Bedfordshire).
Skills & Experience Required for the Area Sales Manager Role:
* Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or a related field. (desirable)
* Minimum of 5 years of B2B sales experience in the building materials sector, ideally within Distribution or Direct Sales.
* Ability to read CAD drawings and interpret technical documentation.
* Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a dynamic team.
* Flexibility to travel across the UK as required.
* Strong grasp of customer and market trends, with a proactive approach to sales.
* Proficiency in sales strategy and negotiation.
* Basic knowledge of commercial law and contract terms.
