Labour Hire are looking for a Warehouse Operative (Steel) for a well-established drainage and construction company based in Farnworth.

This is a full-time permanent position, subject to 12-week probation.

About You:

* High work ethic & team player.

* Has worked in warehousing or distribution business.

* Used to working in a flexible, results oriented, team environment.

* Experienced Warehouse Operative.

* Demonstrates a Health & Safety mindset and ensures this is a priority.

* Able to read written instructions & record accurately work carried out.

* Understanding and experience of EHS requirements, in a warehouse or distribution environment.

* Ability to deliver good customer service.

* Organised and able to work on own initiative.

* Experienced using Mobile equipment (FLT, overhead crane) is advantageous but not essential

* Experience in the steel industry preferred but not essential as relevant training will be provided

* A clean driving licence for vehicle shunting on site would be ideal but not essential.

About the role:

* Monday-Friday 2pm-10pm

* Hourly rate: £12.50

* The purpose of these roles is to ensure customers’ orders are fulfilled to the highest standards in a fast-paced environment. You’ll provide excellent customer service whilst operating within a safe working environment and ensuring legal compliance.

* Pick computer generated orders with repetitive handling/lifting of heavy and large item.

* Work efficiently and effectively as part of a team

* Ensure all documentation is correctly actioned for accuracy of stock.

* Transferring stock to its location using a Forklift trucks and cranes.

* Assisting in the overall production and dispatch of customers’ orders

* Keep work area clean and tidy.

* Maintain high levels of Health and Safety.

* Maintain regular contact and ensure any issues are communicated.

* Be adaptable and flexible in approach to work to meet operational requirements.

* Operate machinery (only when trained to do so)

* Permanent position for the right candidate with many opportunities for progression.
