Installation & Service Engineer (Irrigation)

Location: Colchester
Salary: £32,000 - £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Overtime: Available frequently, including weekends

Job Overview

We are looking for a reliable and skilled Installation & Service Engineer to join our team. This role involves installing, servicing, and fault-finding in two key areas:

Irrigation systems - including pop-up sprinkler systems and associated pumping equipment in private residences.

Bulk materials handling - installation and maintenance of grain handling, cleaning, and drying equipment on farms.

This is a customer-facing role, so strong communication skills and a professional approach are essential. The successful applicant must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

Install, service, and maintain irrigation and bulk materials handling systems

Diagnose and repair faults to ensure system efficiency

Work with welding, electrics, and general site tasks

Travel to job sites, sometimes up to a couple of hours from base

Maintain high-quality workmanship and ensure customer satisfaction

Requirements

Experience in welding, electrics, irrigation, or bulk materials handling (preferred but not essential)

Full, clean UK driving licence (essential)

Ability to read and interpret technical instructions

Comfortable with physical work, including digging and working in wet conditions

Strong communication skills and a polite, presentable manner

Punctual, reliable, and able to commit to full-time work

Basic knowledge of pipework and electrical fault-finding (training provided)

Own basic tools (advantageous but not essential)
